Hello! Lately, I’ve been very interested in dried flowers, especially with the coming fall season. This floral letter project is quite easy to make, requiring only some dried or paper flowers, dried moss, hot glue, and a paper mâché letter. I dried a couple flowers myself, and found everything else at my local craft store.
First, arrange the flowers on your letter. I focus on color and size when considering the placement.
Make a mental note or take a picture to remember where you’d like your flowers. Next, begin gluing the moss to the letter.
Continue around the letter, keeping the moss even and relatively flat. I apply the hot glue to the surface of the letter and then attach the moss. It doesn’t have to be perfect, though! It should still have a natural feel.
I actually decided that I wanted the other side of the letter as the top, so I chose to cover the letter completely in moss. To save on materials, you can cover the letter around the area you’d like the flowers and then fill in after you adhere the flowers.
Next, I adhered the flowers. I apply a generous amount of hot glue to the underside of the flowers and then firmly hold them to the letter until dry.
Voilà! Now, stand the letter up and choose a place to display your work!
I added a couple of other pieces to my display. Stop back in September to see what I do with these letters. It’s a surprise!!
You can use a variety of moss and flowers. Here’s a display I made my mama for Mother’s Day!
Please share what you think of the project and how you choose to display it in the comments section! I look forward to hearing from you!
