Hello December and happy holidays! Here’s your free downloadable December 2015 Calendar.
December 1st is National Pie Day, Rosa Parks Day and World Aids Day. It’s also #GivingTuesday (follows Cyber Monday). December 4th is National Cookie Day, the 8th is National Brownie Day and the 9th is National Pastry Day… apparently December is a good month for sweets! The 9th is Gingerbread House Day (more sweets) and Poinsettia Day. The 15th is National Cupcake Day (yup, more sweets) and Cat Herders Day. How does one herd cats? The 17th is National Maple Syrup Day and the 19th is National Hard Candy Day (keep those sweets comin’)! December 22nd is Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year and he longest night. The 25th is Christmas. More sweets on the 26th with Candy Cane Day and the 28th with National Chocolate Candy Day. No wonder we gain weight this time of year! The 31st is National Champagne Day and New Years Eve.
In Latin, “decem” means 10th and December was originally the 10th month in the Roman calendar. In the Gregorian calendar, January and February were added and bumped December to the 12th month.
Have a great December and Happy Holidays!
