Fall Outdoor Planters

September 25, 2014, In: Gardening

It’s that time of year again, time to switch out the planters on your porch and deck from summer flowers to cold hardy plants.

I use the same containers that I had my summer plants in and reuse the same potting soil. Doing so helps to cut down on the expense, since these planters will only last between 6 and 8 weeks before old man winter sets in around here, I don’t like to spend too much on them.

Some of my favorite outdoor Fall plants include:

  • Celosia
  • Ornamental Peppers
  • Kale
  • Ferns
  • Mums

I also like to add a few pumpkins and/or gourds in and around my planters, and as simple as that, my front porch is ready for Autumn!

Salute, Sharleen
