Good Morning! As I sit in bed with a cup of breakfast tea, I find myself donning my favorite pair of over-the-knee socks. Let me tell you, I LOVE socks, especially those that are of the over-the-knee type. Anyway, I bought them here at the start of the season and I’m already wearing holes through them. Yikes!
These are the exact socks I’m talking about. Aren’t they just perfect? I love the lightweight yarn and pointelle design. I must admit, though, the scrunchy cuff at the top is what really gets me. I much enjoy the functional, layered look.
And that’s the most important part: they’re very functional! With the colder months fast approaching, over-the-knee socks are perfect to layer your legs with. Pair them with tights for a cute and easy, but more importantly warm, late fall look!
Here are a couple other ways to layer your legs:
1. Socks with Leggings- Leggings, thick socks, a tunic, and a warm sweater. I love this look when it’s really cold outside and I don’t want to leave my cozy bed. Dress it up a bit with a wedge ankle boot.
2. Boot Socks- These are great with pretty much any outfit. Wear these on top of tights AND a pair of thigh-high socks for added cozy-ness.
3. Knee-Highs- Everyone enjoys a great knee-high. You can wear these under tall boots for warmth without the bulk.
4. Leg Warmers- No longer only a trend for dancers or eighties-style Halloween costumes. These are great to lounge in, shove in boots, or wear over skinny jeans. I’m eager to crochet a pair.
I’m thinking a mustard color… Please share a link to any leg warmer crochet patterns you like.
