Father’s Day DIY Mug

June 17, 2015, In: DIY, Father's Day

This Father’s Day make dad a glass etched mug declaring him the “World’s Best Pop”!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. Glass mug (I got mine at the Dollar Tree)
  2. Rubbing Alcohol
  3. “World’s Greatest Pop” Stencil (jpg or pdf) cut out of vinyl
  4. Small brush
  5. Glass Etching Creme (I used the Martha Stewart brand, but any brand will work)
  6. **optional** Cricut Explore machine

Cut the “World’s Greatest Pop” Stencil out on vinyl. The easiest way to do this is with a cutting machine like the Cricut Explore. Simply upload the .jpg file, set the machine to vinyl and cut!

Wash your mug and wipe with rubbing alcohol before placing your stencil.

Place your stencil. With a clean, lint free towel rub all of your edges to make sure the stencil is all the way down and there are no air bubbles.

Apply your etching cream according to the directions on the bottle. Let sit for 15 minutes and wash off with water and dish soap. Remove vinyl stencil.

Come back tomorrow and I’ll share an adult version of a root beer float for dad on his special day!

Salute, Sharleen
