Glam up your pumpkins this Fall with this quick and easy gold leaf pumpkin tutorial.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • gold leaf
  • adhesive size
  • sealer
  • foam brushes
  • wax paper
  • pumpkin (real or faux)

Begin with a clean and dry pumpkin. Brush the sizing onto the pumpkin with a foam brush. Remember, where you place the sizing is where the gold leaf will stick. I went with a random application at the top of my pumpkin, but you could do stripes, polka dots or any pattern. Let the sizing dry for 30 minutes or until tacky to the touch. Pick up a sheet of gold leaf with the wax paper and apply to the sizing. Finish with a coat of sealer. To be honest, I didn’t bother to seal my pumpkin since it is a real pumpkin and will just end up in the garbage in a month or so. However, I would have if this had been a faux pumpkin.

My daughter was trying to talk me into carving white pumpkins this year. I wonder if I can convince her to gold leaf them instead? πŸ˜‰ Very pretty.
