This past weekend we celebrated the December birthdays in our family, decorated Christmas cookie cut outs and had our annual family cookie exchange. I made Buckeyes aka peanut butter balls (Denise and I shared this recipe last year and can be found here) and White Chocolate Peppermint Red Velvet Cookies (recipe here). Both are always a big hit in my family.
I thought I’d share with you some of the cookie recipes that were made by my mother, sisters and sister-in-law. First up, my sister Janine. She made Brown Eyed Susans, Candy Bar Pretzel Bites and Salted Caramel Coconut Thumbprints, yum, yum and yum!
The Brown Eyed Susans are a family recipe and was shared here last Christmas.
My mom made her famous Mrs. Claus Fudge! Every year, “Mrs. Claus” would make her famous fudge and send it along with Santa to fill our stockings with. Denise and I shared this family recipe last year and can be found here. And yes, it’s gluten free! Yay!
My sister-in-law, Makayla made Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies. I love butterscotch and I love these cookies!
And last, but certainly not least, my sister Marie. Marie always makes the most delicate and complicated cookies I’ve ever seen. I’m always in awe of her baking skills. This year she made three different kinds of cookies!
And finally these Chocolate Cherry Blossom Cookies by Baking Beauty. Recipe here.
As you can see, participating in a cookie exchange gives me quite the variety of cookies. I often package them up and give them as gifts. Everyone always appreciates a little sugar this time of year!
