These sugar cookies are no ordinary sugar cookies! Ok… so they started out as ordinary sugar cookies, but then I discovered you can have your design printed on edible frosting and that changed everything!

To be honest, I was a little worried they’d be hard to work with. I haven’t done a lot of frosting lately and I don’t have much confidence in my skills right now. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was!!

The frosting rounds come on a sheet and are sealed in plastic. I didn’t use them right away but they stayed nice and fresh. I thought they’d be difficult to get off the sheet, but that wasn’t a problem at all either. I cut the sheet into strips and then just rolled it over the edge of my counter top. The frosting round popped right off.
I used the royal icing recipe below and when I placed the frosting round on top it blended right in. I sprinkled the entire cookie with Wilton white sparkling sugar to give them a snow flake feel.
I used Katrina’s sugar cookie recipe and I think they really are the best sugar cookies ever! My icing recipe is below. You won’t need to use much… about a tablespoon. Spread a circle in the middle, place your frosting round and then let it spread to the edges. Dust with sprinkles if you’d like.
