September is the start of apple season in New York and with it comes fresh apple cider. Our favorite is Mayer Brothers, if you live in Western New York there really is no better choice. Inspired by the flavors of cider, caramel apples, candy apples and apple pie, I created this whiskey apple cider float, the perfect cocktail for those cool Autumn evenings.

Here’s what you’ll need for 2 servings:

  • 2 C. apple cider
  • vanilla ice cream
  • 2 oz. Black Velvet Toasted Caramel Whisky
  • 2 oz. Fireball Cinnamon Whisky

Combine the apple cider, Black Velvet and Fireball whiskey in a pitcher and stir. Place a scoop of vanilla ice cream into a small glass and pour cider and whiskey combination over the top. Enjoy! Makes 2-3 small servings.

Funny story, when I was at the liquor store the owner asked me what I was making, so I shared my recipe with him. He turned to his employee and said, “Did you hear that? Write that down, that sounds good!” I laughed and replied, “It does sound good, doesn’t it”.
