Lately, I’ve been loving the geometric trend that I’ve been seeing in interior design. My home leans toward eclectic with a vintage vibe. I find the geometric trend adds a nice contrast with its modern feel while still managing to blend in. After receiving roses from the hubby for Valentine’s day, I found myself wanting one of those cool faceted ceramic vases to put them in, but much to my dismay I don’t own one! So I got to work creating a faceted origami paper vase cover. A simple to fold piece of card stock that slides over a vase.

Here’s what you’ll need:
- paper cutter
- ruler
- washi tape
- embossing tool

You will also need a heavy weight cardstock. I used three different types of cardstock, textured, metallic and plain. I wanted to see what type of cardstock I would like best. Turns out, I like them all. Each offers a unique look. I used white cardstock, but feel free to use colored cardstock as well.

Lastly, you will need the free downloadable patterns that I’ve created for you:
- Small Origami Paper Vase Cover 4″ tall
- Medium Paper Vase Cover 5″ tall
- Large Paper Vase Cover 6″ tall
The small and medium sized patterns will fit on a standard 8.5″x 11″ piece of cardstock.
The large sized pattern fits on a 12″x 12″ piece of cardstock.
Instructions for creating and assembling the origami paper vase covers are included in the downloads.
